Data Processing Disclosure

Last updated: July 6, 2026

This page describes how Consumer Perspectives LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles the survey data uploaded to a client's dashboard project, and which outside services touch that data in the course of running the Dashboard. It supplements the Dashboard Terms of Service and the data-handling terms of your signed services agreement with us, which control if they say something different.

What data is stored

When we upload your survey file (SAV or XLSX) to build your project, the parsed respondent-level data — including any open-end verbatim responses and demographic variables — is stored in our database and used to generate the charts, crosstabs, and exports you see in the Dashboard. Only viewer accounts your organization has authorized can see this data, enforced both in the application and at the database level.

Where it's stored

Project data, viewer accounts, and file storage are hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL database, authentication, and object storage). The Dashboard's backend runs on Railway; the frontend is served by Vercel.

Email

Account invitations, password resets, and related transactional email are sent through Resend. These emails contain your name and email address, and — for new account invitations — a temporary password.

AI features

Several optional Dashboard features send survey content to Anthropic's Claude API for processing:

  • Ask AI — answers questions you type about your project's data by sending relevant survey results (not your full raw dataset) to the model.
  • AI-assisted open-end coding — sends open-end verbatim responses to the model to propose and apply a code frame, when an admin triggers this for a project.
  • Segmentation statements and narratives — sends aggregate profile data (not individual responses) to the model to draft plain-language descriptions of audience segments.

Demo projects never call the model — they serve pre-written, baked responses at zero cost and with no data sent anywhere. For live client projects, these features can be disabled on a per-project or per-series basis; ask us to turn off AI features for a project if you do not want survey content sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic processes this data under its own API terms and does not use API inputs to train its models by default.

What we don't do with your data

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not share one client's project data with another client.
  • We do not use your data to train our own models or share it for advertising purposes.

Retention and deletion

Project data is retained for as long as your engagement with us is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for reference and reporting continuity. If you would like your project data deleted after an engagement ends, contact us and we will confirm a timeline consistent with your services agreement.

Questions

If your organization has its own data-handling commitments to your donors, members, or audience that this disclosure needs to account for, contact legal@perspectivesco.com before your project goes live — we can adjust which features are enabled per project.
